Meet Jan
I'm Jan — a young engineer from Zürich, Switzerland. I started in software: I'm a software engineering apprentice at Google Zürich, now in my third year. Somewhere along the way, building things on a screen stopped being enough — so I taught myself CAD, got a 3D printer, and started making hardware too.
These days my evenings look like this: designing parts in Fusion 360, printing and iterating until they fit, and running everything on a server I built myself. I like projects I can hold in my hand when they're done.
And I believe good work should be shared. My hardware projects will be open source — the models, the parts lists, everything — so anyone can build them too.

How I build
Think & design
Every project starts as a sketch and becomes a model in Fusion 360. Measure twice, design once — then change it anyway.
Print, test, repeat
Parts get printed, tested against the real thing, and redesigned until they fit. The iterations are the fun part.
Ship & share
Finished work gets documented in the log — and released open source once it's ready.

The milestones that turned a software apprentice into a maker.
Built with AI, by me
AI is a big part of how I work — I build with Claude and Cursor every day. They're tools, like the printer on my desk: they make me faster, and the ideas stay mine.
